Lyric coloratura soprano Laura Ruhí Vidal is an accomplished singer, musician, and educator. Deeply dedicated to the art of singing, she has built a varied and distinguished performance career across the United Kingdom. Her concert appearances include renowned venues such as Cadogan Hall, The Barbican,

St Martin-in-the-Fields, Southbank Centre’s Purcell Room, Kings Place,

The Shaw Library (LSE), and The Sage Gateshead.

Laura has also performed with leading opera companies including Welsh National Opera, Scottish Opera, Opera North, Mid Wales Opera, Pop-Up Opera, and Opera Project. Her festival credits include appearances at Longborough Festival Opera, West Green House Opera, Tête à Tête Contemporary Opera Festival, Aldeburgh Festival, London Spanish Song, and the Zarzuela Festival, among others.

Laura earned her BMus (Hons) in Classical Singing from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in 2012, followed by a Master’s Advanced Certificate from its prestigious Opera Course in 2015. After graduating, she was awarded an Artist Fellowship in 2016, contributing her expertise as a Spanish and Catalan language and music coach within the Vocal Department. Additionally, in 2023 she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Performance Teaching at Guildhall.

Beyond opera, Laura has performed with conductor and comedian Rainer Hersch, appearing at venues such as Crazy Coqs and Cadogan Hall in London, as well as at festivals including the Ludlow Piano Festival and the Perth Festival of the Arts. Her notable appearances include Rainer Hersch’s Victor Borge – The Man, The Comedy, and The Music! and the popular New Year’s Eve Bash with the Rainer Hersch Orkestra, blending classical music with humour and theatrical flair.

Furthermore, Laura performed with the Maria Camahort Quintet, a chamber ensemble renowned for its interpretations of Spanish classical music rooted in traditional folk influences and led by guitarist Maria Camahort. Their concerts across the UK and Spain were accompanied by the release of two acclaimed albums: Iberian Colours (Convivium Records) and Danzas, Canciones y Nanas (Guitar Records). Concert appearances include venues such as the Purcell Room (Southbank Centre), St Martin-in-the-Fields, Kings Place, Milton Court (Barbican), Cervantes Theatre London, and The Sage in Newcastle. Festival appearances include Buxton Festival, Clásicos en Verano (Madrid), Festival Francisco Tárrega (Benicàssim), and Festival Áureo Herrero (Ávila). The ensemble’s stage experience also extended to theatre, performing in Lorca’s Blood Wedding at the Silk Street Theatre in London (2012).

Alongside Maria Camahort, Laura also gave duet performances in both countries, appearing at a range of venues and festivals including The Forge (Camden), The Cervantes Institute in London, the St George’s Day celebration organised by the Ramon Llull Institute (London), Girona Guitar Festival (L'Escala, Spain), and the Festival de Música Áureo Herrero (Ávila, Spain), amongst others.

Alongside her performing career, Laura has developed a strong reputation as a dedicated and inspiring music educator. She has taught singing at Forest School (Walthamstow) and served as Director of Music at Ursuline Preparatory School (Wimbledon), where she created and led the school’s music curriculum, ensembles, and musical productions. She was also the founder and music director of the London Catalan Choir for a decade, promoting cross-cultural musical collaboration through performance.

Now based in the Cotswolds, Laura is Head of Music at Kitebrook School, where she continues to share her passion for music-making with young people. Keen to contribute her artistry, she remains active in seeking new opera, concert, and oratorio projects, as well as educational collaborations that foster creativity and community engagement.
